Corporate/Organization Staff Trainings & Wellness Programs
Indigenous peoples around the Earth deeply understand the interwoven relationships between all beings. Indigenous Elders speak of the individual and collective responsibility we all have to be in a healthy and reciprocal relationship with the Earth, ourselves, and with each other. This may be more important now than any time in history. As we witness and experience the impacts of a climate crisis, global pandemic, wars, conflicts, and injustices, it is easy to feel overwhelmed at times. Sharing and practicing ways to support our own well being can strengthen our relationships with all of Creation. Carolynne includes a trauma informed approach in all of her work that embodies a social justice lens to each of her sessions. Carolynne embraces the Mi’kmaw concept of Etuaptmumk (two eyed seeing) that Elder Albert Marshall speaks about widely.
Carolynne has also been a keynote speaker and spoken on panels on the subject of the climate crisis, food sovereignty, and health and wellness.
Using an equity lens Msit No’kmaq rates are higher for those institutions that can afford it while creating opportunity for smaller organizations with little to no budget to access these sessions.

“We had the great pleasure of having Carolynne Crawley host a Webinar session ahead of National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. Our goal was to provide our employees with an overview of Canada’s colonial history and its impact upon Indigenous people. Carolynne is an amazing speaker and our employees were captivated. She is incredibly passionate and knowledgeable. Employees found the session informative and eye opening, and it truly inspired employees to continue their learning and deepen their understanding following the session. It was one of the largest attended sessions we have hosted with around 500 employees. We host many sessions within our group and I have never received so much positive feedback from employees as I did following Carolynne’s session. We will certainly be engaging Carolynne again for the future. Thank you so much Carolynne, we are very grateful that we had the opportunity to learn from you!” - Kimberly Chomut, Human Resources Director, Taxi

With the new year in full swing, and work being very busy for everyone, we wanted to provide our team with both a reminder to take care of themselves and also an opportunity to understand ways they can do this. Carolynne presented to our team on wellness for mind, body and spirit from an Indigenous lens, providing short sensory experiences along the way allowing us each to connect with nature from the comfort of our own homes. The experience allowed everyone a chance to “disconnect”, recenter and take a moment to appreciate the beauty of everything around them. Using the chat function on Zoom, we had the most engagement I have ever seen from participants who were sharing how they felt, words of gratitude, and an honest outpouring of compassion. As a group of employees working in a big corporate environment, this was truly a unique experience that served as a reminder to appreciate everything around us, show gratitude to all and to prioritize our own well-being even in the most hectic times. Thank you Carolynne for sharing your knowledge with us – we are so grateful! - Katie Guolet, Senior Specialist, Deloitte Indigenous

This is an opportunity to de-stress and slow down while experiencing the many benefits of nature. Explore the possibilities of connecting with yourself, others, and the Earth through this practice. Length of session: 60 to 90 minutes
“I appreciated your thoughtful approach to reconnect to the earth’s pace. I saw new growth along the forest floor that I would have otherwise missed, heard the songs of the birds and the wind, felt sun and dirt in a more intentional way than I have in a while. I feel grounded and cared for and very much reconnected after your session and have received gracious feedback from staff that they feel the same way.” Brianna Locke, Project Manager, Sustainability, Prince’s Trust Canada

“Carolynne Crawley led a hike with residents of Homes First’s supportive housing program through High Park – what a revelation! We learned so much about the suppressed histories of Toronto/Tkaronto’s natural environment, and developed a deeper understanding of the ecological and spiritual systems that could form the basis of a more sustainable, more humane world. Carolynne’s empathic and deeply-informed teaching style put everyone at ease – while never shying away from the real stakes of decolonizing our collective relationships to the land and each other.” Andrew Winchur, Program Supervisor, Homes First
